Family Portraits for My Family

A couple months ago, my big brother Rodney, called to ask if I could make it up to Missouri to visit with him and his four daughters and take some portraits. We eventually worked it out and while it was a short trip, I am so very thankful for the time with them and for these portraits that I was able to take. I already have a new canvas in my house. πŸ™‚

While Rodney and Heather don’t live together anymore, she’s incredibly special and I’m grateful for her. One, she is the mother of these precious girls. Two, she’s HILARIOUS. Three, she took the time to put together wardrobes and fix ALL of this hair, well all but Rodney’s. He doesn’t have enough for rollers.Erin Moulden PhotographyErin Moulden PhotographyI really love this picture. I love everyone in it. I love the button noses and the smiles and the wildflowers, the dimples and the light. This is my favorite and the newest canvas in my house. πŸ™‚Erin Moulden PhotographyAnd Heather’s…Erin Moulden PhotographyCardinals Fans. πŸ™‚Erin Moulden PhotographyI love y’all, more than you know.

Joby and Michael

“What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it’s curved like a road through mountains.” – A Street Car Named Desire by Tennessee Williams

Justin and I have been friends with Joby and Michael for over 12 years. In that time, we’ve seen many of our friends begin new relationships, fall in love, fall out of love, end relationships, and do it all over again. Joby and Michael, like us, are among those lucky enough to find their soulmates early and fall and stay in love. Recently, we had the pleasure of being able to take their first portraits together in all of that time.

I wish I could brag that we really dug deep to create great images on this shoot, but the fact of the matter is that Joby and Michael are incredibly easy to photograph. Individually they are both brilliant people. Together, they are simply beautiful. They share a love and respect for each other that is rare, genuine and intoxicating.

Joby and Michael, thank you for being our friends for all of these years and thank you for the honor of documenting your love for each other. You’re awesome and we love you.
